I chose to become a teacher because I love being with children and wanted to have a positive impact on their lives on a daily basis. In 2004, I left the profession of social work to go back to school to get my multiple subjects teaching credential and master's degree in education. I completed my degrees in the summer of 2005 with one goal in mind at the time; to become a Kindergarten teacher! I was thrilled to get my first teaching job in Pajaro Valley Unified School District in Kindergarten that summer. I taught Kindergarten for seven years after that and then spent two, part-time years teaching reading intervention in the first and second grades when my son was born. I am very pleased to be returning full-time to my second year of teaching Kindergarten in this wonderful school and district.
When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, baking, reading, hiking, doing yoga, and gardening.
